This year’s Biz Month is all about supporting locals, and the impression Bathurst gives to those who travel through.
COVID has made it difficult for local Business within Bathurst and surrounding areas. With the councils ‘buy local’ campaign, six thousand dollars went into local Business affected by drought, water restrictions, the bushfires and COVID.
New events and campaigns have emerged due to COVID not only to support Businesses but to attract those who travel through Bathurst.
It is all about “getting the community out and supporting local Bathurst businesses,” Said Mayor Bobby Brown.
“Business will never be the same; they have to adapt to be successful and grow. We want to encourage Businesses to apply new skills and survive,” said Catherine Fitzsimons from Bathurst Business Chamber.
The Bathurst City Council, while focusing on local Businesses, want to work on what impression Bathurst gives to tourists. What does Bathurst provide and what could Bathurst provide to strengthen the perception of the town.
The council wants to promote what Bathurst has that the outside world does not know about. What are other attractions that can bring in travellers besides Mount Panorama.
The Bathurst City Council will once again be holding the “business/peoples awards” for Business to entre in. The want business to talk about the Pros and Cons they have had to face, highlight what is working in the current situation and what the Business is doing to present themselves to travellers.
